An executive coach partners with individuals or teams in a creative process based around experience, active listening and constructive challenge that allows the client to maximise their personal and professional potential.
Simon Marchant spent over 20 years as partner in one of the world’s leading international law firms where he built a series of successful practices and held a string of roles managing teams, practices, sectors and regions. Since founding Rosemont Advisors, he has broadened his experience by working on strategy and leadership mandates with global, international and national law firms.
As a result, Simon brings to his coaching an understanding of lawyers and other professionals, the environment they work in, the dynamics of partnerships and the dilemmas and challenges professionals face at different stages of their careers and lives. As well as individuals, Simon also coaches management and other teams to improve performance and resolve blockages and friction.
In his coaching, Simon uses various approaches sometimes described with labels such as psychodynamic, humanist, person-centred, gestalt, neuroscience, cognitive behavioural and so on. What is important however is not the labels but that Simon has a range of approaches that can be deployed and adapted as the coaching relationship develops and as appropriate to achieving the client’s goals.
Some clients also benefit from an evidence-based approach and there are various tools that we can used to gain insights into personality traits and preferences or to set and monitor the achievement of goals.
Common situations where Simon is asked to coach include:
Simon’s formal training as an executive coach was completed at Henley Business School whose programme is accredited by the Association for Coaching, The European Mentoring and Coaching Council, and the International Coaching Federation.
